Illegal dumping - name and shame campaign

Local residents are putting their foot down when it comes to illegal dumping, by helping the Waste Partnership for Buckinghamshire convict people for fly-tipping offences in the county.  The partnership is publishing its Name and Shame list that highlighting the names and details of companies and individuals who have recently been convicted for fly-tipping or duty of care offences.

If you are convicted of illegal dumping, your name will appear on this list which will be updated regularly.  There's no getting away with it. If you don't want to see your name in the local paper, you need to ensure you dispose of your waste correctly by using one of the county's Household Waste and Recycling Centres' trade facilities or by ensuring you comply with duty of care when transferring your waste to someone else.

What to do if you witness illegal dumping (fly tipping)

If you witness someone dumping waste illegally, report it to the Waste Partnership by telephoning 0845 330 1856.  Alternatively, you can use the "Report illegal dumping" online form to the left of this page.

What if I pay a trader to remove my household waste?

Even if someone else is taking your household (includes DIY) waste away, you must  check with the Environment Agency that they are legally authorised to take it. If your waste is dumped illegally and your haven't checked the carrier's credentials, you and the carrier could be fined up to £5,000.  You can use the "Report trade disposal" online form to the left of this page to let us know when you have used a trader to remove waste on your behalf.  In the event that your waste is illegally dumped this information will assist us in prosecuting those responsible.
