Motorcycle forum
The Buckinghamshire Motorcycle forum represents the various organisations in the region that have responsibility for motorcycle safety and travel awareness.
With representatives from the motorcycle industry, bike dealers, interest groups and motorbike training providers we meet to form the Motorcycle Forum. The forum allows us to look at motorcycle issues and strategies at a wider level across the region, it also allows the various organisations to share their experiences, ideas and are able to input their own expertise.
The forum aims to:
- identify solutions to the problems bikers face
- create an environment where riders are safe and welcomed
- reduce the number of motorcycle casualties
The forum is currently working on a motorcycle strategy including such issues as: motorcycle parking, bus lanes, advanced stop lines, improving safety and reducing casualties, increasing road safety awareness, improving access and facilities.
Some of these initiatives are already happening, but others will take longer to implement.
The forum aims to build on previous publicity campaigns which promoted safe riding and attendance at advanced skills training courses given by qualified instructors (Be a Better Biker Course).
