Certain activities on the highways require a licence
- Scaffolding on the highway
- Building materials on the highway
- Builders skip on the highway
- Erecting hoarding on the highway
- Creating a vehicular access
- Opening the road
You can apply and pay for the licences online
You may be aware the Traffic Management Act 2004 came into force on the 1st April 2008. Buckinghamshire County Council has a statutory duty to co-ordinate all works carried out on the public highway, including skips and scaffolding placed on the highway.
To comply with these duties we now require a minimum of 10 working days advance notice prior to your apparatus being placed on the highway. Failure to fulfil this requirement may result in the delay in issuing the Licence or removal of your apparatus from the highway. Any costs we incur will be recharged to the relevant Company.
