We co-ordinate the assessment process and allocate school placements for statemented pupils.
We work with parents, the child's school and social care. The assessment may lead to a statement of the child's special educational needs.
The statement identifies:
- Educational need
- How the need will be met
- How the educational placement will be monitored
- Non-educational needs
We review statements every year so that changing needs can be met.
We also help schools to meet the needs of pupils with long or short term difficulties in mainstream schools.
