Amersham Music Centre

Amersham Music Centre provides many different ways for local young people to come together and make music. We run orchestras, bands, ensembles and a choir every Saturday morning during term time; some mid-week after school session also take place locally.

Our members start as young as 8 years old and most stay with us until they leave school. We even run an orchestra for adults who want to continue playing!

All musical abilities are catered for – from those who have only had one or two term’s tuition to those who have passed Grade 8; many musical styles are played ranging from jazz to Classical music; theory classes are also available.

Some of our bands represent the Centre at outside events – our Intermediate Wind Band play annually at The Chiltern Show and at Pinewood Studios in the summer whilst our more experienced brass players are often seen playing at local events.

During the week we have over 40 highly experienced and enthusiastic peripatetic teachers who currently teach over 2,500 school children in more than 50 local schools.
