Meals

We provide over 90,000 meals to the people of Buckinghamshire each year.  

Apetito Ltd supply meals on our behalf.  They can provide both hot and frozen meals to your home. This is sometimes known as 'meals on wheels'. 

Each meal is nutritionally balanced. We cater for different types of diets and cultural needs.  There is a choice of meal each day so if there's a meal you try and don't enjoy, tell your delivery agent. They'll make sure you do not have it again. We can also provide cold items.

Assessment and cost

Please contact us to arrange an assessment by email catreferral@buckscc.gov.uk or by phone 01296 383204. Your assessment will include whether you want your meals delivered hot or frozen.  We can loan you a microwave and freezer if you don't have one.

If you've been assessed as needing a hot meal or tea time meal, the cost is subsidised.

There are 4 ways to pay:

1. Pay the delivery agent each week by cash or cheque
2. You or a family member can be invoiced monthly
3. Standing order
4. Direct debit

Flexible delivery

You can have meals on days that suit you, eg  if you eat with your family on Sundays you can arrange not to have a meal on Sundays.

You can cancel a meal without charge on the day so long as you call Apetito before 10am.  If you are going out at delivery time please call Apetito, otherwise your delivery agent will worry about your safety and contact your next of kin or neighbour.

Drivers

Drivers wear a uniform and have a set route, you should always see a familiar face.
