Plan of Westcott Roundabout (JPG, 626KB)
This is a partnership project between Buckinghamshire County Council, Transport for Buckinghamshire, Buckinghamshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Aylesbury Vale Enterprise Zone, and Westcott Venture Park.
About the project
As an Aylesbury Vale Enterprise Zone site, Westcott Venture Park forms a key part of Buckinghamshire Local Enterprise Partnership's Local Industrial Strategy. Placed within the Oxford to Cambridge Arc, the site has the potential to become a major asset in the UK space programme programme and a hub for the development of 5G innovation technologies. However, highways capacity constraints mean the current site access is unsuitable for further expansion.
The A41 roundabout will enable Westcott Venture Park to move ahead with plans for a £3.2 million innovation centre, a high tech business space for world-leading space propulsion and satellite industries, as well as improving access to Westcott village and neighbouring settlements.
Aims and benefits
The project aims are:
- unlocking development at Westcott Venture Park with the potential to become a national centre for aerospace research
- improving road safety at the A41 junction, enabling safer access to Westcott village
- discouraging HGV movements through Westcott and neighbouring villages
With the exception of a two-week overnight road closure in September, access along the A41 and into Westcott village will be maintained at all times throughout the works programme. A reduced speed limit of 40mph will be in place during construction. Work will take place between 7am and 5pm weekdays.

High Speed 2 works
High Speed 2 Ltd plan to carry out signalisation works on the nearby A41 / Station Road junction at some point during the construction of the new Westcott roundabout. Exact timings for these works are not confirmed, but we are coordinating closely with High Speed 2 Ltd and their contractors to minimise disruption on the A41.
