Service disruption and stop closures

Please see the list below for details of any planned bus stop closures and route diversions for the current week, due to road and utility works and events. This is subject to change so we advise you check these pages just before you travel. 

In times of high service disruption due to inclement weather (such as snow or flooding) or other emergencies we will also include any unplanned disruption we have reported to us. However, if we have not had a report about your service during these times and you are concerned it is disrupted please contact your bus company.

Planned diversions and stop suspensions

Major works at Handy Cross 

Due to road repair works the Handy Cross roundabout and all exits on junction 4 of the M40 will be closed between 2000 on the Friday to 0500 Monday over the following three weekends:

16 to 19 February

23 to 26 February

2 to 5 March

The following services will need to divert during the closures:

  • National Express will not serve the Coachway. For more details please contact the National Express Customer Contact Centre on 0871 781 8181. Please note service 737 towards Stansted Airport or Oxford will continue to serve Eden Bus Station as scheduled.
  • Arriva services 800, 850 and Carousel Buses X80: High Wycombe - Marlow - Henley - Reading: These buses will need to divert between High Wycombe and central Marlow and will be subject to delay. Buses will NOT serve Wiltshire Road, Little Marlow Road or Chapel Street within Marlow during the closure. In Marlow the nearest served stops towards High Wycombe are on Oxford Road and Queen's Road, and towards Henley will be on Dean Street or West Street. 
  • High Wycombe Park & Ride: The PR1 buses will operate as normal, running every 30 minutes. The X80 and the evening 800 buses will not serve the Coachway during the closure.

Thursday 15 to Friday 23 February 2018

Aylesbury Vale district

Churchill Avenue, Aylesbury, Monday 8 January to Monday 19 February, due to Thames Water works the 'Chalgrove Walk' stops will be suspended. Passengers are advised to use alternative stops at 'The Priory' or 'Hampden Gardens'. 

Station Road, Quainton, Monday 5 February to Friday 23 March, Thames Water will be replacing undertaking mains renewal works and this road will be closed during this period. The buses will need to divert and will not serve any of the stops on Station Road during the closure. The nearest served stops will be on The Green or Lower Street in Quainton.

Bicester Road, Berryfields, Aylesbury, Monday 12 to Friday 16 February, due to Thames Water works the Aylesbury bound 'Berryfields Lane' stop will be suspended this week. The nearest available stops are on Paradise Orchard or Jackson Road.

Church Road, Ivinghoe, from Monday 12 February, due to Anglian Water works the stop outside the Church will be suspended. Passengers are advised to wait instead outside the library and hail clearly for the buses.

Church Street, Marsh Gibbon, Monday 19 February to Friday 13 April, due to Thames Water works this road will be closed between these dates and bus route 18 will need to divert. The 'Plough PH' stops on Church Street will not be served. The nearest served stops are on Station Road or on Bicester Road.

Chiltern district

Chiltern Avenue, Amersham, Wednesday 14 to Friday 16 February, due to Cadent Gas works the 'Leisure Centre' stops will be suspended on these days. Alternative bus stops can be found on Woodside Road, Hill Avenue or at the Railway Station.

Deanway, Chalfont St Giles, Tuesday 13 to Monday 19 February (excluding weekends) 0930-1530, due to road repair works the 580 will need to divert between these times and will not serve Deanway or the High Street. Passengers using the stops on Chalfont St Giles High Street and eastern part of Deanway will be advised to use the stops on the A413, Amersham Rd picking up the 730 buses. On the western Deanway stops we will suggest that passengers use the ‘Narcot Lane’ stop on Three Households for the 580 service to Beaconsfield. For journeys towards Chalfont St Peter and Uxbridge, we will advise passengers to wait just past the garage round the corner on Narcot Lane, please can you ask the drivers to look out for passengers here and stop where safe.

Whielden Street, Amersham, Monday 19 to Monday 26 February 1900-0600, excluding weekends, due to Transport for Buckinghamshire works this street will be closed on these nights. Route 1 buses after 1900 will need to divert via the A413 and Gore Hill, missing stops on Whielden Street, the Broadway and the Hospital stops on Whielden Lane. The nearest served bus stops are on Gore Hill or the 'Crematorium' stops on Whielden Lane.

High Street, Chalfont St Peter, Tuesday 20 February, 1930-2130, due to this two hour closure, Carousel Buses route 730 journey will need to divert, this will only affect the journey leaving Uxbridge at 1915. After serving Gerrards Cross this journey will need to divert onto the A413 and therefore will not serve stops on Austenwood Lane, Gold Hill West, Gold Hill North, Market Place or High Street, Chalfont St Peter.

South Bucks district

Lent Rise Road, Burnham, Monday 12 to Friday 16 February, 0930-1530, due to signals works near the bridge part of this road will be closed between Stomp Road and Bath Road. Route 53 and 68 buses will divert via Stomp Road and Huntercoombe Lane and the 'Coulson Close' stops will not be served. The nearest served stops are the 'Cornells Corner' stops on Lent Rise Road the otherside of the Stomp Road junction.

Wycombe district

 

Handy Cross, High Wycombe Friday 16 to Monday 19 February - please see top of this page for information concerning this closure which will affect buses between High Wycombe and Marlow.

Ibstone Road, Stokenchurch, Tuesday 20 February to Monday 2 April

Thames Water will be undertaking works here and the road will be closed during these dates. Service 28 will operate from Stokenchurch Business Park to High Wycombe only and a replacement 8 seater taxi will run from Ibstone to Marlow Hill schools only on schooldays. 

The taxi will operate at the usual scheduled time from Ibstone, opp Infant School at 0743 and pick up from Marlow Hill schools at 1605.  It will also serve the following stops in Ibstone: Parsonage Wood, Chiltern Cottages and Grays Lane.

Please note the stops at ‘The Fox’ and ‘Commonhill Wood’ and between these and Stokenchurch will not be served during this period.
