Information for transport operators contracted by the council including how to join the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) and what you need to do for any drivers or passenger assistants you employ.
Register for the Dynamic Purchasing System
All bus and taxi operators are required to apply and be approved on our Dynamic Purchasing System if they want to provide:
- home to school transport
- social care transport

What to do when you’re registered to the DPS
Once registered and approved on the DPS, operators are then responsible for ensuring that drivers and passenger assistants:
- have a school transport identity badge (Buckinghamshire Council ID Badge)
- have an enhanced DBS check carried out
- complete mandatory training
School transport ID badges
School transport ID badges are required for:
- licenced private hire vehicle drivers
- coach drivers
- passenger assistants
You can only apply for a Buckinghamshire Council ID Badge if you’re an approved transport provider for Buckinghamshire Council.
To apply, transport operators must email the request for their driver or passenger assistant to ctdbsapplications@buckinghamshire.gov.uk.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
All drivers and passenger assistants will need an enhanced DBS check carried out.
To request this, operators must email ctdbsapplications@buckinghamshire.gov.uk.
Training
Transport operators will need to book ID badge and wheelchair training for drivers and passenger assistants.
Training can only be booked once the ID badge and enhanced DBS check has been approved.
To book training, transport operators must email CTTraining@buckinghamshire.gov.uk.
