Amersham Library Site Development
As you may have already heard, the Chiltern Lifestyle Centre development in Amersham has been given the go ahead and work will start in October.
We are excited about the prospect of being part of the new Chiltern Lifestyle Centre and of designing a brand new library for Amersham. We will keep customers up to date with designs for the new library as plans progress.
This is a large project so the development works will take some time. This means we will be temporarily relocating the library into the Chiltern District Council building on King George V Road, for the duration of the build.
So we can move everything over, the existing library will close at the end of the day on Saturday 5th October 2019 and our temporary library will open in King George V House on Tuesday 15th October 2019. The temporary service will operate slightly different opening hours which are as follows:
|Closed||9:00am – 5:00pm||9:00am – 5:00pm||9:00am – 5:00pm||9:00am – 4:30pm||10:00am – 4:00pm||Closed|
On Saturday the Chiltern District Council car park will be open and available for customers to use.
Unfortunately we won’t be able to offer customer desk space or some events like our regular Bounce and Rhyme sessions from our temporary home but these facilities are available at other local libraries, details of which are online. Our library staff will also be happy to direct you to alternatives.
The Amersham Library team look forward to welcoming you to our temporary home and hope you will bear with us during our move.
We have compiled a list of FAQs to hopefully answer any queries that you may have about the temporary library, but if you have any further questions then our team will do all they can to answer them.
