Library Buddy Service

Who is this for?

The Library Buddy service is for Buckinghamshire residents, who find it difficult to get to their local library in person.

How does it work?

If you have a friend or family member who would be happy to visit the library on your behalf then the Library Buddy card could be perfect for you.

The Library Buddy card allows your nominated person to issue and return items using your library card and then deliver them to your home.

To make this even easier for you there is a 31 day loan period, no overdue charges and no reservation fees on books and audiobooks for Library Buddy card holders, on all other items standard loan periods and charges apply.

Apply for a Library Buddy card

Ask your friend or family member to visit their local library where we will begin the joining process.

What happens next?

We will write to you with details of the friend or family member who you wish to collect books on your behalf. Please sign and fill in the form attached and return it to the library in the self-addressed envelope included.

We will then update yours and your friend or family members library card and your library buddy may begin to borrow books on your behalf.

Please contact the Home Library Service with any questions.
