School Competition to find a sponsor for the new primary school on the Kingsbrook development in Aylesbury

Buckinghamshire County Council has launched a competition to find potential sponsors to run the new 420 place primary school and 52 place nursery that is due to open in September 2020 on the Kingsbrook development in Aylesbury.

In line with Department of Education statutory guidance all new schools have to open as Free Schools and the competition which runs from 18 April to 6 June is to find potential sponsors willing to run the new school. All bids received will be evaluated and a short-list of bidders drawn up who will then be invited to interview in September 2018, before the County Council decides on its preferred sponsor.

Details of all bids received, including the County Council’s preferred bidder are then sent to the Regional Schools Commissioner who advises the Secretary of State on the successful bidder. The final decision is due by the end of the Autumn term.
