1. Late Transfer Testing 2022 introduction

The Late Transfer process is for the parents of pupils who would like their child to be tested for possible entry to Year 8 or Year 9 of a grammar school in September 2022.

Please be aware for 2021 entry Late Transfer, only 3 grammar schools were able to offer places for 2021 entry to those who qualified.

Only 1 place was offered for September 2021 entry into Year 9 .

As there are very few Late Transfer grammar school places available to allocate to those who qualify, please consider whether you wish for your child to follow through the process without any guarantee of a grammar school place being offered.

From 4 October you can register for testing for entry to:

  • Aylesbury Grammar School
  • Aylesbury High School
  • Beaconsfield High School
  • Burnham Grammar School
  • Chesham Grammar School
  • John Hampden Grammar School
  • The Royal Latin School - Year 8 only
  • Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School

For testing for entry into any other Buckinghamshire grammar school, you must refer directly to each school’s website. Please do not include any other schools as we will not process these.

Consider carefully your grammar school preferences. If you decide to register your child for testing, we encourage you to list your true preferences. Preference changes after the first round of allocations will only be accepted where there has been an evidenced change of circumstance eg change of home address.
