Late transfer procedure September 2019 Admission

3. How do I register my child for testing?

Your school preferences will determine how you need to proceed.   The table below shows whether you need to approach your preference school directly for testing, or whether you need to register for testing from 5 November 2018.

For the 8 schools below whose Late Transfer testing is managed by Buckinghamshire County Council, the deadline for applications is final and is detailed below

Please also consider, when applying, how your child would travel to school if a place is offered. Check if you are entitled to free school transport

Once you have looked at the relevant schools admission policies, you will need to provide us with details of the following in your online application:

  • Siblings
  • Free school meals, pupil premium
  • Medical/social needs which may affect the ranking of your child

It is the parent’s responsibility to inform us of these details. If a sibling is allocated to a school for September 2019 after you have submitted your application you must advise us through the contact us form  so that we may take this information in to consideration when compiling the waiting lists. If you do not advise us, and provide appropriate evidence, your child may be positioned incorrectly

Address Evidence

Address evidence  must be provided for all applications no later than 19 December 2018.  The address used for the first round of allocations will be the address at which the child is resident on 19 December 2018.

The address you enter on the online registration form must be the child's 'normal home address’ (where you and your child live together and is the child’s only/main residence). Proof of residence must be provided to confirm this. Please read our guidance regarding address evidence.

The evidence can be sent through our contact us form or posted to the Admissions team. Please include the name and date of birth of your child, when sending in evidence.

Living Overseas

If you are currently living overseas, and moving to the UK or returning to your own property in Buckinghamshire for the academic year September 2019, the address which will be used for the first allocation will be the address in which your child is living on 19 December 2018. You will be required to provide proof of residence. A Buckinghamshire address will not be considered as the home address until we have evidence that your child is residing at that address. This will include council tax bill, a utility bill showing usage and further evidence to show you have relocated.

Service Families

Where Service families or families of other Crown servants, who often move within the UK and abroad are posted to the area, a Unit postal address or quartering area address will be sufficient in the absence of a new home address.

Can my child take the test abroad or in a school elsewhere in the UK?

Children who live overseas or elsewhere in the UK must travel to Buckinghamshire for testing on the advertised test date (2 February 2019).

It is not possible for a child to be tested at any venue other than one of the eight listed Buckinghamshire grammar schools.

Moving into Buckinghamshire

If you have moved into the area prior to the deadline for applications please register using the Online portal. If you move in after the deadline of the 19December please refer to our In-year admissions process.

Buckinghamshire Grammar to Buckinghamshire Grammar

If your child currently attends a Buckinghamshire grammar school, and you wish for him/her to be considered for entry to an alternative Buckinghamshire grammar school in the next academic year, you must apply within this published Late Transfer timeline.
