Changes to productions of records from the strongrooms

From 2 July to 25 July, the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies will be trialling a new system for producing records from the strongrooms. The new system will minimise customer waiting time and allow us to better cope with demand throughout the day.

Access to the collections in Local Studies remains unaffected. This includes local newspapers and parish registers on microfilm.

Making a request

During the trial, you'll need to:

  • book a seat at least 24 hours in advance
  • give us the references of up to ten records you would like to see
  • let us know your intended arrival time

Reference numbers are available from our catalogue and through the National Archives. Contact us via email or telephone 01296 382 587 if you would like help identifying references.

Ordering additional items

You can order more items in our emergency production slots.

Tuesday to Thursday - 10:30am, 1pm, and 3pm
Saturday - 10:30am and 2pm

Up to four items can be requested per customer in each slot.

How to give feedback

We will be seeking your opinions on how the new system works.

Feedback forms will be available in the searchroom for you to complete.
