Armed Forces Covenant

In July 2012, Buckinghamshire County Council and the Armed Forces in Buckinghamshire (Army, Navy and RAF), alongside other key partners, signed the Buckinghamshire Armed Forces Community Covenant.

Buckinghamshire Community Covenant Signing

The covenant aims to recognise the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces community within the county and help provide support for them and their families. This includes in-Service and ex-Service personnel, families and widow(er)s.

It is a two-way arrangement and the Armed Forces Community is encouraged to do as much as they can to support their community. All the partners involved have agreed to deliver an action plan.

The partners involved include:

  • District Councils
  • NHS Bucks
  • GP commissioning groups
  • Emergency services
  • Business community
  • Voluntary community
  • Armed forces charities

Armed Forces Day 2017

The Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Armed Forces Day 2017 event will be returning to Aylesbury Rugby Club on Saturday 17 June 2017.

It will be a big celebratory family friendly fun day event packed with air displays, live music, live sport, attractions, craft stalls and also the Guinness World Record attempt for the largest Swing Dance.

The aim is put on an event that welcomes not only the wider Armed Forces Family working and living in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes but to all residents in the area.

It is our chance to show our support for the Armed Forces Community, from Serving Personnel to Forces Families and Cadets. It is also an opportunity to raise public awareness of the contribution made to our country by those who serve and who have served in Her Majesty's Armed Forces.
