Specific risks

1. Introduction

Events, whether man-made or created by nature, affect us and the way we live. We do not know when something may happen so it is always a good idea to be prepared.

Nearly all emergencies or major incidents threatening us will be dealt with by emergency services, local authorities, utility companies etc. However there may be occasions eg extreme weather, water shortages when you will need to take action yourselves.

The Community Risk Register (CRR) describes potential hazards in accordance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. The purpose of the Register is to assure you that an assessment of potential risks has taken place and that plans are in place to deal with those risks.
