Domestic abuse - resources for professionals

2. Champions

As a domestic abuse champion you would be able to proactively help draw your agency and others together. Multi agency working in this way is the key to providing an effective, consistent and comprehensive service for those suffering from domestic abuse. It increases identification of domestic abuse and reduces both the proportion of repeat incidents and the impact on those experiencing domestic abuse

Please take a look at the Champion’s leaflet which is attached at the bottom of the screen in order to find out more information on what it is like to be a champion and the free training we provide.

Being a domestic abuse champion for your organisation you will:

  • Be the domestic violence specialist for your own organisation or service area
  • Be the link between your organisation or service area and other organisation or service area
  • Be the representative for your organisation or service area on the domestic violence countywide forum
  • Help deliver the countywide domestic abuse strategy
  • Help to cascaded training throughout your organisation/service area
