Some of the ways you can have a healthy lifestyle include:

  • Eating 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day
  • Getting plenty of exercise
  • Quitting smoking

Heavy alcohol use and drug abuse are harmful to you and can lead to addiction, as well as financial problems and mental health issues. If you think you have a problem with alcohol or drugs, it’s important to get help sooner rather than later. You can get information and access to a free helpline by visiting You can also talk to your GP and your PA, who will be able to find you help.

Top tip: Getting more exercise doesn’t have to mean running a marathon; it’s as easy as ditching the bus and walking, or maybe getting a bicycle and cycling to college or work.
