Transparency relating to councils

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) issued a revised transparency, which specifies what open data local authorities must publish.

The code requires that councils provide details of:

  • invitations to tender to provide goods and/or services with a value exceeding £5,000
  • contracts, commissioned activity, purchase orders, framework agreements and any other legally enforceable agreement with a value that exceeds £5,000
  • grants to voluntary, community or social enterprise organisations
  • waste contracts

Further information relating to the code can be found on Local Government Transparency Code 2015
