Find out how you could make a difference to a Bucks child
There are currently over 450 children and young people in care in Buckinghamshire, many of whom are looking for a foster home – could yours be one of them?
If you have ever wondered about fostering or would like to find out more about what it involves, now is your chance. We are holding a Fostering Information Evening in Aylesbury:
Date: Wednesday 27 September
Venue: Aylesbury Opportunities Centre, Thame Road South, HP21 8TS
Time: 7pm to 8.30pm
Information evenings are a great way to find out more about fostering and ask any questions you may have without committing to anything. Come along and find out details about the process of becoming a foster carer, what it’s really like to foster and whether it could be the right thing for you. Our team of fostering social workers can give you all the information you need and one of our current foster carers will be on hand to give you an honest and open picture of their experience of fostering.
Warren Whyte, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services said: “Becoming a foster carer is not a quick decision made overnight, it takes time, thought and lots of discussion. These information sessions are a great way to get information on fostering to help you make that decision in a no pressure, relaxed environment.
“Many people think they won’t be able to foster for a variety of reasons but the fact is, foster carers come from all backgrounds just as our looked after children and young people do. Don’t rule yourselves out without finding out whether it is something you could do. Come along to our evening and find out more.”
