County Council shows solidarity to City of Manchester

Flags outside County Hall in Aylesbury are flying at half mast today as a mark of respect and sympathy for the people of Manchester following last night's terrorist attack in the city centre.

Council Leader, Martin Tett said: “This was a reprehensible attack on one of our great cities and all the more callous as it targeted children and young people. This morning I sent my condolences to Sir Richard Leese, the Leader of Manchester City Council.”

County Council Chairman Patricia Birchley expressed the views of the whole council when she said: “On behalf of Members and staff of Buckinghamshire County Council I send my heartfelt sympathy to the families of those who lost loved ones in the terrible atrocity that happened in Manchester last night. Our thoughts and prayers are also with those who were injured and all those who were affected.”
