Buckinghamshire Libraries are launching the Summer Reading Challenge, Silly Squad, on Saturday 11th July. This year the annual event will be a digital one, with parents encouraged to sign up children to read as many books as they like at: sillysquad.org.uk

Children can set their own reading goal, find book recommendations and access lots of fun activities at: sillysquad.org.uk. Buckinghamshire Libraries will be supporting the event with a fun live event Monday to Friday 10am during August on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/BucksLibraries

Full event listings to be confirmed.

Silly Squad is a celebration of funny books, happiness and laughter, featuring artwork from award-winning children's author and illustrator Laura Ellen Anderson.  This year, during what have been, and still are, difficult times for children and parents, we feel that the Summer Reading Challenge offers families a chance to have fun and be silly together.

“I feel the Summer Reading Challenge is extra important this year! How sensible to have a Silly theme. We've all had to deal with serious and scary issues, so it's time for a bit of fun. There are so many comical and crazy children's books to cheer us all up. Let's get reading and get happy!” - Jacqueline Wilson, Summer Reading Challenge Ambassador

This year Summer Reading Challenge will end on 29 August.
