We are delighted that the newly refurbished Aylesbury Library will be opening later this month.

To allow for the changeover the temporary library at Aylesbury Study Centre will be closed from 4pm on Saturday 12th January.  We will then reopen the Library in Walton Street on Thursday 24th January at 9.30am.

Please come and join us for a fun-packed family day on Saturday 26th January with activities starting from 11am. There will be story-telling, demonstrations of the new equipment and a special guest appearance from the Gruffalo among the activities.

The library has had a complete renovation to include many fantastic new features and a total reworking of the space with brand new furniture throughout.

The new, dementia friendly space includes:

  • Better computing facilities with more power points for customers using their own devices
  • New self-service technology – so customers can borrow and return books really quickly and easily
  • A modernised children’s area with a colourful new sensory wall
  • Refurbished toilets and a new baby-changing area
  • A new exhibition area
  • Two new meeting rooms
  • Lots of new books

The Library will be open on:

Monday 9.30am - 5pm

Tuesday 9.30am - 7pm

Wednesday 9.30am - 5pm

Thursday 9.30am - 5pm

Friday 9.30am - 5pm

Saturday 9.30am - 4pm

It’s a fantastic modern space in the heart of the town that the community can be proud of and which reflects the wider regeneration of this part of Aylesbury, which also includes proposals for a new hotel, new apartments and a new restaurant.

We look forward to welcoming you into the library.
