National Poetry Day will take place on Thursday 28 September 2017 and this year’s theme is "Freedom".

National Poetry Day is an annual celebration that inspires people throughout the UK to enjoy, discover and share poems. Everyone is invited to join in, whether by organising events, displays, competitions or by simply posting favourite lines of poetry on social media using #nationalpoetryday.

Celebrate National Poetry Day with Jan Moran Neil as she entertains us with poems from her latest collection.

Hazlemere Library | 10:30am to 11:30am

Afternoon Poetry with tea and cake

Join us for a trip down memory lane. Bring your favourite poem and listen to poetry reading s both old and new.

Beaconsfield Library | 2:30pm to 3:30pm

Aylesbury Library also holds a regular Poetry Group. They meet at Aylesbury Library on the first Friday of the month at 2.30pm.

Bring along something you have written, or share an old favourite or simply sit with a cup of tea and listen.

Each month a different subject is chosen to discuss. The next meeting is on Friday 6th October and the chosen subject for this meeting is John Betjamin & Victor Hugo.
