Marlow Library set for major transformation this summer
On Monday 13 July, work will start on the next chapter in the transformation of Marlow Library. This will include a complete remodel and refurbishment of the building.
Once completed, the new library will boast improved computer facilities, a new meeting room, self-service technology and loanable tablets. There will also be a bigger and better children's space with bold colours, lots of low comfortable seating and bean bags, themed seating and a sensory StoryWall®. All shelving and furniture will be replaced and the library will be redecorated throughout.
Marlow Library refurbishment plans
While the work takes place, Marlow Library will move to a temporary location in the former children’s centre building beside Sandygate School in Sandygate Road, SL7 3AZ. This site will open from Tuesday 21 July and the temporary opening hours will be 9.30am to 12.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
As with other libraries in Buckinghamshire the services available and opening hours at our temporary home will be limited, to enable us to maintain a Covid secure environment. Please read Visiting your library during coronavirus for information on safety measures in place at Buckinghamshire libraries.
The building works will be completed within 14 weeks and library staff look forward to welcoming customers to a fresh, attractive and modern library with the addition of some exciting new features and plenty of new books.
