Holocaust Memorial Day 2022

We're marking Holocaust Memorial Day. The theme this year is One Day.

Holocaust Memorial Day takes place on 27 January every year to mark the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. It's a time when we seek to learn the lessons of the past and recognise that genocide does not just take place on its own – it’s a steady process which can begin if discrimination, racism and hatred are not checked and prevented.

It's a day when we remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, alongside the millions of other people killed under Nazi persecution of other groups and in genocides that followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. Find out more about Holocaust Memorial Day on the official website
