Supporting you with CAMHS

When you foster with Bucks, we offer access to a range of support including CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) to all our foster carers.

Since January, we’ve had the welcome advantage of access to a CAMHS clinician from the Looked After and Adopted Children’s Team, here in Buckinghamshire County Council on a weekly basis.

Dr. Lucinda Shoolbred has been providing our fostering team and social workers with specialist individual consultations for our foster carers. Anyone can refer to CAMHS and the feedback we’ve been receiving from the team is that this direct access has been a huge assistance.

If you would like to contact CAMHS for advice or help then you can call SPA (Single Point of Access) 01865 901951 – we do encourage you to make full use of this incredible service.

You may already have attended CAMHS training courses for ‘Supporting Young People with an Eating Disorder’ or ‘Low Mood’ in February; or are booked on for March 2019’s ‘Supporting young people with Self-Harm’ or ‘Primary School Age Children with Anxiety’. In addition, anyone attending upcoming support groups will meet our CAMHS representatives as they sit in on sessions.

In the meantime, we wanted to say a big thank you to Lucinda for her invaluable support!
