This month Buckinghamshire Archives' Katherine Gwyn talks to journalist and author Wendy Moore.

Wendy has written Endell Street, a book documenting the history of the eponymous ground-breaking military hospital in London, open during World War One.  It was staffed almost entirely by women.  Wendy tells us about the two women who ran the hospital: Dr Flora Murray and Dr Louisa Garrett Anderson, and their connections to Penn in Bucks.

We take the entry of Flora's burial in Penn, 1923 as our starting point.  This is the only mention of either one of the couple that we could find in our archive collection.
