Virtual History Festival

This weekend it’s the Virtual History Festival

Buckinghamshire Archives is bringing history home this weekend, 12-13 September, with its first ever virtual line up. History fans can expect a varied and exciting selection of video talks, podcasts, blogs, and interactive events all published on the history festival website over the course of the weekend. Usually, around this time, the annual history fair would go ahead, with talks by local researchers and historians open to all. But 2020 is not a usual year, and it called for an unusual solution to celebrating history, heritage, and culture in Buckinghamshire. From 1pm this Saturday, we’ll be publishing talks from renowned historians Adrian Tinniswood (The Verneys), Jane Robinson (Ladies Can’t Climb Ladders), Professor Ian Beckett (Dads Army in Bucks) and many more. We also have competitions and activities to engage children and young people in history, such as the brilliant History Detectives, produced especially for us by the brilliant Unbound Theatre group, available now on our Play page! Find out more about the festival and how to access all the brilliant events, on the History Festival website.
