Buckinghamshire Minerals and Waste Local Development Framework (MWLDF)
.jpg)
The Minerals and Waste Local Development Framework (MWLDF), which replaces the old Local Plan system, will provide the spatial strategies and detailed land-use policies and proposals for the future extraction of minerals and management of waste in the county. We began the production of our MWLDF in Summer of 2006.
Consultations
We will carry out public consultation at each stage of the Development Plan Documents (DPD) preparation, in accordance with the adopted Statement of Community Involvement. Details of the next public consultation appear on the Consultation webpage.
All MWLDF documentation can be viewed on the relevant webpages, these are accessed via the menu to the left of this page.
The MWLDF will contain:
Minerals and Waste Core Strategy Development Plan Document (CSDPD)
The Core Strategy sets out the guiding principles for the amount of mineral extraction and waste treatment that will take place in the county, identifies the locations where the most important of these activities will take place, and contains some broad principles that will apply when planning applications for minerals or waste development are being considered - programmed date for adoption: July 2012.
Minerals and Waste Core Strategy Development Plan Document (CSDPD)
Minerals Development Plan Document (MDPD)
The Minerals DPD will include more details regarding the locations where the extraction of minerals, and the recycling of materials to produce 'alternative minerals', may be permitted, and the planning issues that will need to be addressed at these locations. It will also include some more detailed development control policies for use in considering planning applications - programmed date for adoption: December 2013.
Minerals Development Plan Document (MDPD)
Waste Development Plan Document (WDPD)
The Waste Development Plan Document (WDPD) will provide policies and preferred areas for development of smaller scale waste management facilities, including maps and information on the allocated sites. It will also contain detailed development control policies.

Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)
Sets out standards and the approach to involving the wider community in Buckinghamshire in the production of all minerals and waste local development documents and major minerals and waste planning applications - ADOPTED September 2007.
Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)
Local Development Scheme (LDS)
The Local Development Scheme provides the timetable for the preparation of the MWLDF and is submitted to the Government for approval at the end of March each year. Our revised LDS 2011-2014 sets out the MWLDF programme for the next 3 years.

Annual Monitoring Report (AMR)
We will produce an AMR at the end of December every year. The AMR will monitor the effectiveness of the policies and proposals in the Minerals and Waste DPDs. As a result of the monitoring, the Council will consider what changes, if any, need to be made and will bring forward such changes through the review of the Minerals and Waste LDS.
