Waste, recycling and treatment 

We are responsible for arranging the disposal of all household rubbish generated in the county:

  • 10 household waste and recycling centres 
  • Initiatives to encourage the reduction and recycling of rubbish

Household waste recycling centres

All sites are open seven days a week, except for 25 December, 26 December and 1 January.

Opening hours are 8am to 6pm in British Summer Time and 8am to 5pm when the clocks have gone back.

Permits are required for commercial vehicles, large trailers or if you are on foot. Apply for a permit.

Web cams

We are installing webcams at each of our ten Household Waste and Recycling Centres (HWRCs) to provide up-to-date, live, traffic queue information at the sites to help you avoid busy times.
