Permit scheme

You need a permit to dispose of household waste using a commercial vehicle (ie not a private car, 4x4 or MPV with up to 7 seats), on foot, or using trailers which are 1.2m x 0.9m and above up to our maximum permitted size at each site:
- Aylesbury, Aston Clinton, Beaconsfield and High Heavens household waste recycling centres (HWRC) up to 2.4m x 1.8m
- For all our other HWRC up to 1.8m x 1.2m maximum
Permits are also required for disposing of all asbestos from all vehicles.
Permits are free to Buckinghamshire (and Slough) residents. Please allow 3 working days for delivery and, to ensure your permit arrives quickly, complete all the fields on the next page. Fields marked with a * must be completed
You can apply for up to three permit types - DIY, Recyclable and General.
DIY
Allows you one visit to the nominated site, with up to 6 items of DIY (eg a door, a bath, a kitchen unit, a sack of soil / rubble / tiles / other waste produced from DIY) within the 31 day period.
General
Allows non-recyclable household waste (eg mattress, carpet, mixed general household waste). This permit will last for 1 month on initial application and 3 months on renewal.
Recyclable
Allows recyclable household waste (eg cardboard, paper, green garden waste). This permit will last for 1 month on initial application and 3 months on renewal.
Trailer size restrictions
All sites accept trailers up to 1.8m x 1.2m excluding drawbar and no higher than 60cm with cover.
Larger trailers up to 2.4m x 1.8m excluding drawbar and no higher than 60cm with cover are accepted at Aston Clinton, Aylesbury, Beaconsfield and High Heavens sites only
Hertfordshire residents
The above rules also apply to residents from the Tring and West of Tring area who would like to use the Aston Clinton HWRC.
If you have not had a permit before, you must call Hertfordshire County Council in advance on 0300 1234051 to register your intention to visit Aston Clinton HWRC.

All charities need to pre-register by writing on headed paper stating the Charity Commission Registration Number.

Using a company to dispose of your waste
There are companies who, for a fee will dispose of your waste for you. However, you have a duty of care to ensure the waste is disposed of legally.
