School crossing patrols
.jpg)
These have an important role within the community helping children and their parents to cross busy roads on their journeys to and from school.
How we decide whether a crossing patrol is needed:
- numbers of children crossing the road
- numbers of vehicles travelling along that stretch during the time children are arriving at school.
If a road doesn't meet our criteria, the school, parish council, a local company or a local organisation can pay for a patroller. We will train them so long as the site meets the required safety assessments.
