These pages are for parents with a child about to start school for the first time or moving to a new one. They will help you decide which school you want your child to attend and how to apply.

You can contact individual schools directly for more information, a prospectus or to arrange a visit.

Primary Admissions September 2012 - August 2013


Applying for a school place for the first time from September 2012 and transferring from an infant school to a junior/combined school in September 2012

Information for parents applying for a school place for the first time and for those whose children are transferring from an infant school to a junior school in September 2011 can be found by following the primary schools link on the left including the link to apply online.

You can contact individual schools directly for more information, a prospectus or to arrange a visit.

The deadline for applying for your child to start school for the first time in Reception (Foundation) for them to transfer to junior school at 7+ or 9+ was 15 January 2012.

If you have missed the deadline, please apply now.  You can contact us on 01296 383250 or email admissions@buckscc.gov.uk and we will send out an application form.

Primary school offer letters will be posted to Buckinghamshire residents on 10 April 2012.

Moving up to secondary school in September 2012

Information for the parents of children who are due to move up to Year 7 in a secondary school in September 2012 can be found by following the secondary schools link on the left.

  • The deadline for applying for your child's secondary school place was 31 October 2011.  If you missed the deadline, please apply now.
  • The 11+ results for those children tested on the normal timeline were released on 25 November 2011.
  • Secondary school offer letters will be posted to Buckinghamshire residents on 1 March 2012.

We try to make sure as many children as possible are offered places at one of their preferred schools. During the application process we will keep you informed and offer you support.

Whether you apply online or on a paper form the Buckinghamshire code is 825 followed by the individual school code which you can find in the Primary or Secondary Schools Directory.
