Checking for suitability to work with children

As part of the recruitment process and before you can start working with children you need to have Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks to establish your suitability to work with children.

All new employees, those moving jobs and volunteers who want to work with children can also register with the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) through the Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS). From November 2010 this will be a requirement in law.
