Planning applications

Household planning applications are dealt with by your local district council.  We process and decide on applications for:

  • Managing waste
  • Extracting minerals
  • Applications for our own use, eg County Council owned or managed schools and libraries and other buildings

On our BucksPlanning Public Access website you can view submitted planning applications, download application documents, comment on an application, find important application dates, see if an application has been appealed and monitor application progress.  This site also allows you to view current Enforcement cases.

Please see our Enforcement page for more information on our responsibilities and statutory powers.  You can also view documents from our current enforcement cases.

You can also view the agendas and minutes of the County Council's Development Control Committee.

What do I need planning permission for?

Planning applications are often needed to:

  • Build or extend property, including domestic and commercial premises
  • Alter buildings and land in conservation areas or listed buildings
  • Install signage and advertisements
  • Change the use of land or property

If your planning application is for minerals extraction, waste disposal or relates to a BCC owned building, please contact us.

If, however your application relates to your home, then you can find out more on household applications by contacting your district authority or using this interactive guide from the Planning Portal.
