Self funders

Our scheme helps people not eligible for financial assistance from us, but who need care in their own home or are considering moving into a care home, to get the best advice available to fund their care. This helps to:

• avoid the disruption of having to move to a less expensive care home because their fees are above our contracted rates
• preserve their family legacy.

As well as advice about what welfare benefits may be available, eg the Attendance Allowance, we refer people to three independent financial organisations who offer options to cover their care costs.
