Admission to schools

These pages are for parents with a child about to start school for the first time or moving to a new one. They will help you decide which school you want your child to attend and how to apply.

You can contact individual schools directly for more information, a prospectus or to arrange a visit.

Applying for a school place for the first time from September 2012 and transferring from an infant school to a junior/combined school in September 2012

Information for parents applying for a school place for the first time and for those whose children are transferring from an infant school to a junior school in September 2011 can be found by following the primary schools link on the left.

Buckinghamshire Primary offer day was 10 April 2012.

The second round of allocations will be posted out to parents on 29 May.  You will not be able to view the outcome of your child's allocation online.

If you still have not applied for a school place for your child please do so now.  You can contact us on 01296 383250 or email admissions@buckscc.gov.uk and we will send out an application form.

Moving up to secondary school in September 2012

National Offer Day for children moving up to secondary school in September 2012 was 1 March 2012. 

The fourth allocation round has taken place and letters were posted on 22 June 2012.

Moving up to secondary school in September 2013

Children born between 1 September 2001 and 31 August 2002 will be moving up to secondary school to begin Year 7 in September 2013.  More information is available by following the links on the left.

Joining a school partway through a year from September 2011

We try to  make sure as many children  as possible are offered places at one of their preferred schools.  During the application process we will keep you informed and offer you support.
