Denham Country Park

The main Bridge on the river Colne has been closed due to a structural failure, this includes Bridleway 53 that runs through Denham Country Park, a pedestrian diversion taking people along the Grand Union Canal will be put in place shortly, but this is suitable for pedestrians only.

The 69 acres of Denham Country Park offer great recreation opportunities with its varied landscape including open space. The park has a visitor information point and café and links to local footpaths, bridleways and the South Bucks Long Distance Route. The park is surrounded by the Grand Union Canal and the rivers Colne and Misbourne.

Today Denham country park is open from 8.30am to 6pm.

Denham country park opens at 8.30am daily.

Closing times vary depending on the seasons:

  • 1 January to 13 February: 8:30 to 4pm
  • 14 February to 28 March: 8:30 to 5pm
  • 1 March to 28 March: 8:30 to 5pm
  • 29 March to 18 September: 8:30 to 7pm
  • 19 September to 11 October: 8:30 to 6pm
  • 12 October to 24 October: 8:30 to 5pm
  • 25 October to 31 December: 8:30 to 4pm

Denham Adventure Zone

WP_20160701_002A new Denham Adventure Zone is now open in Denham Country Park. Suitable for children 12 years of age and younger, it includes a sandpit, adventure trail, tube slide, treehouse, toddler swing and multi-play frame.

The Adventure Zone is open during car park opening hours.

New Sculpture

WP_20160701_008A new sculpture has been carved in Denham Country Park, sculptor Nick Garnett; formed in 3 parts representing the view through the trees - the main one being of a lady with hair flowing upwards with birds tangled in it. The money to create the sculpture was kindly donated by one of the Friends of Colne Valley Park.

Bird Spotting Safari

Go on safari around the park with our binoculars. Denham Country Park is a great site for water birds; will you spot a Heron or a Kingfisher?

Family Orienteering

Collect a map and a compass from the Colne Valley Visitor Centre and see if you can solve the riddle and find your way around the explorer route.

Wild Tots

Keep an eye on the Colne Valley website for details of Wild Tots mornings and explore the park with our leader and other pre-schoolers. Dress to get muddy! See www.colnevalleypark.org.uk for more information.

Thorney Country Park

This country park is a 50 acre old mineral site, part water and part landscaped grassland, the park provides walking, bird watching and picnic opportunities for the visitor.

The large lake and nearby pond are home to many overwintering birds which can be viewed from a bird hide with information panels on bird life.
