We provide information on activities and services for children 0-14 years and up to 16 if they have special needs.

We support the quality of early years education and the development of childcare provision under the National Childcare Initiative set by the Sure Start.

Buckinghamshire Children's Information Service (BCIS)

A free telephone service providing confidential, up-to-date and impartial information and guidance on all aspects of childcare for parents, providers and everyone working with, or caring for, children.

We can help you find:

  • The best childcare to suit your needs
  • A play scheme during school holidays.
  • The location of your local pre-school playgroup.
  • Leisure activities.
  • Information on setting up a childcare facility.
  • The standards of quality you can expect from a childcare provider.
  • Information on a rewarding career in childcare.
  • Details on parenting courses.

To find out more about services and activities in your area you can visit the BCIS website, call 0800 328 3317 or email bcis @buckscc.gov.uk between 9.30am and 4.30pm (outside these hours there is an answer service) or pop in to the office between 10- 4pm on weekdays.
