School crossing patrollers

School crossing patrol

Patrollers have an important role within the community helping children and their parents/carers to cross busy roads on their journeys to and from school.

All drivers have a legal duty to stop when they are shown the STOP sign (lollipop). Failing to stop can lead to a £1,000 fine, three penalty points and disqualification.

If your daily journey takes you past a school - especially at the beginning of the school day or the end - allow yourself more time as you may be requested by a Patroller to STOP, allowing them to cross children and adults safely over the roads.

Become a School Crossing Patroller

Are you interested in becoming a School Crossing Patroller? Do you have an hour a day and want to give something back to the community as well as getting paid?

We currently have vacancies across the county. Both 'off' and 'on' site training is provided.
