The reviews in this database were written over a number of years by librarians from the County Library Service, from LISS (the School Library Service) and by school librarians. The database contains reviews written from the late 1970s to date. It contains over 2500 entries and current reviews are regularly added.

These reviews were written to assist librarians in the selection of new books and to help teachers and parents with particular queries. We are very pleased that now they are accessible to everyone. Although written with adults in mind, children themselves may also find these reviews useful.

Book Selector will prove a useful tool to anyone interested in literature for children and young people, and we welcome any comments you may have.
