We are responsible for arranging the disposal of all household rubbish generated in the county:
- 10 household waste and recycling centres
- Initiatives to encourage the reduction and recycling of rubbish

Household waste recycling centres
All sites are open seven days a week, except for 25 December, 26 December and 1 January.
Opening hours are 9am-6pm from 1 April to 30 September and 9am-5pm from 1 October to 31 March.

Waste permits
You do not need a permit if you are taking personal household waste in a private car, 4x4, MPV or small trailers under 1.2m x 0.9m unless you are taking asbestos (other conditions apply for this material).
Permits are required for commercial vehicles, large trailers or if you are on foot. Permits are free. Apply for a permit.
