Potholes

With the rest of the country, our roads have suffered severely during the recent cold snap. An extra £2million has been released from our reserves to fund repairs and these are progressing as rapidly as possible.

If you have reported a pothole, or raised a issue related to the roads, please be assured we are dealing with your case and will respond back to you as soon as possible.

Report a pothole or problem with the roads.

Salting

Due to salt shortages caused by the recent icy weather, the Department for Transport (DfT) has once again instigated the Salt Cell, to allocate salt deliveries based upon prevailing forecasts, current stock levels and salting activity in each authority area.

The County Surveyors’ Society (CSS) has also issued guidance to assist with the preservation of salt stocks. In Buckinghamshire we have reduced the number of road salted from approximately 40% to approximately 26% of the network.

The reduced coverage will continue until we have sufficient stocks of salt for a minimum 6 days of heavy treatment.
