Developing Flexible Working Practices
Sponsored by Polycom www.polycom.co.uk
As a Transportation Centre of Excellence, Buckinghamshire County Council has had our 5th Travel Planning Conference.
We would like to thank Pinewood Studios for hosting the conference on 30th October 2008.
The theme for this year's conference was 'Developing Flexible Working Practices', addressing how flexible working practices link into travel plans, HR issues, reducing the need to travel for work, best practice examples and the business case for implementing these practices.
We would like to see a significant modal shift from single occupancy car journeys to the more sustainable methods of transport including walking, cycling, carshare and public transport. It has become evident that technology can aid this work by reducing the need to travel at all, allowing home working, using conference calls and video conferencing and general flexible working policies.
