Getting around in Buckinghamshire
85% of travel in the UK is by car - this has brought real benefits to many people but has added to the problems of congestion and pollution that we're all so familiar with.
We've been tackling congestion by giving people better information about their travel options. By marketing and improving services we are making a real difference and cutting car use.
In this section you can find out more about travel plans for businesses, schools and for you, as well as all you need to know about walking, cycling, car sharing and catching the bus or train.
Annual Campaigns
Each year, the Travel Choice team organises a programme of campaigns, initiatives and events that span the calendar. These promote walking, cycling, car sharing, using public transport and flexible working practices to schools, businesses and the general public. These events sometimes support national campaigns and some are specific to Buckinghamshire and its residents.
National events include, but are not limited to: Walk to School week, Bike Week, Commute Smart Week, National Liftshare Day and Walk to Work Week.
Buckinghamshire specific events include: Change for Chesham, ‘Let’s get Watermead Flowing’, Bucks CarShare monthly campaigns, conferences, ‘Take a Fresh Look at Your Journey’ and iCycle.
This website is regularly updated with details on all initiatives, so keep an eye out for the next one!
