Station Travel Plans

A Station Travel Plan is developed in order to encourage rail users to walk, cycle, car share or catch the bus to the railway station. This in turn will create more space in the car parks, reduce congestion around the station site and save passengers money. It will also reduce the station’s environmental impact, and encourage more travel by rail.

Aylesbury Station is currently the only station in the County with a Travel Plan. Actions to reduce car travel so far have included passenger surveys and promotions of ‘3 for Free’, a car sharing initiative, the ‘Free bus travel for season ticket holders’ initiative and improvements to cycle storage. A long term action plan has also been developed.
