The Road Safety Team through their Be a Better Biker campaign continue to offer part subsidised motorcycle assessment days.
2012 is our 9th year of this initiative since its launch in 2004.
For more information, check calendar for 2012 assessment days or to make a booking visit: www.beabetterbiker.co.uk
Bikers have been fully involved in the campaign from the start and this has been a huge part of its success.
The day is designed to greatly improve your safety on the road by concentrating on such topics as positioning for safety, view, observation and correct use of speed.
The assessment day is valuable and beneficial to all bike riders, no matter what size of bike or the experience level of the rider.
Test training gives great value for lifelong learning. This can take you beyond the basic skills to a level that will improve your own safety and others safety. It will also allow you to make better use of the road and gain more enjoyment from riding.
The Thames Valley Police are supporting and endorsing the Be a Better Biker campaign as their preferred option for post test training across the Thames Valley region.
The initiative was shortlisted in 2009 for a Nation Transport award and in 2010 became runners up in the Highways excellence awards for a Road Safety Scheme. In 2011 the scheme won a Prince Michael International Road Safety award.
The road safety team also actively work with bikers and the motorcycle industry across Buckinghamshire through education and publicity campaigns. Also supporting locally, national initiatives from the Department of Transport, such as Think Bike.
