Finance
We have no direct responsibility for the motorway and trunk road network.
'A' roads, primary non-trunk roads and non-primary (principal) roads
The funding of improvements and structural maintenance of all ‘A’ roads is provided by the government as capital funding following an annual bid from us through the Local Transport Plan (LTP) process.
‘B’, ‘C’ and unclassified roads
General improvements are based upon the results of annual surveys carried out on the road network.
Road conditions are continually assessed and maintenance improvements are undertaken on a priority basis based upon the annual survey results. Parish and town councils are the major partners with an interest in road maintenance.
We welcome suggestions regarding the need for maintenance improvements. Email us on tfb@buckscc.gov.uk
We want to prevent or limit access to new developments from the Strategic Highways Network and Principal Road System.
